MARCH 17, 2009~These days the economic crisis is impacting everyone. People across this nation
are losing their jobs, their homes, and finding it difficult to provide for their family’s basic needs.
Although Oklahoma City was recently identified by Forbes magazine as one of America’s top ten
“Recession-Proof Cities,” because of its strong housing market and solid growth in agriculture,
energy, and manufacturing, the state of Oklahoma is not immune to the affects of the economic crisis.
In February, the State Equalization Board certified state revenues that were $613 million less to run
state government than last year.
