Board Meeting
February 26, 2009

Opening:

The Oklahoma Correctional Association board meeting was called to order by Debbie Boyer at 2:00 p.m. in the Treatment & Rehabilitative Services Conference Room in the Cameron Building, 2901 N. Classen, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The purpose of the meeting is for the board to make a decision regarding the Department of Corrections proposal for a consolidated conference with the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice due to the tough economic times.

After some discussion, Christie Kornele made the motion to combine the OCA and NABCJ conferences because of the economic situation faced by state agencies. Kristin Tims seconded the motion. Four members voted yea, and two members abstained. The motion carried.

Debbie Boyer will contact the NABCJ president, Paulette Bowler, to discuss logistics of combining the conferences.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
